A function was held for Breaking Of Fasting during Ramadan Month with Tengku Muda Johor at the Tengkera Mosque , Melaka on the 6th.September 2008.His Royal Highness Tunku Idris Iskandar Ismail Abdul Rahman Ibni Tunku Ibrahim Ismail, representing Her Royal Highness Raja Zarith Sofiah binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah, Director of Public Social Services  of Malaysian Red Crescent has given His Royal Highness approval for giving out donations to 130 orphans and 50 single mothers.

10 members and officers from Unit 5 V.A.D. of Malaysian Red Crescent, Melaka Branch were on duty to provide first aid services for full dress rehearsal day on the 29.8.2008 and on National Day parade on the 31.8.2008 which marched from Padang Pahlawan to Hang Tuah Stadium, Melaka.

On the 29th July 2008, a cheque presentation amounting to RM 32,580.00 was held at the Honesteel Co. Sdn.Bhd. for victims of Sichuan,China Earthquake and Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar.Y.Bhg.Dato’Dr.Hj.Bahari bin Datuk Hj.Abu Mansor, National Vice Chairman of Malaysian Red Crescent and Chairman of Malaysian Red Crescent Melaka Branch attended the ceremony and the cheque was presented by Chief Executive Officer of Honesteel Co.Sdn.Bhd. , Mr.Wee Hock Seng. The ceremony was also attended by the Director of Malaysian Red Crescent, Melaka Branch, Y.Bhg .Encik Mohd. Nawawi Hj.Mohd.Yasin  and also other executive members of Melaka Branch MRC.

A simultaneous nationwide Blood Donation Campaign by MRC in conjunction with World Blood Donors Day was held on the 14th June 2008 at Tesco Store and SM Pay Fong in Melaka and was assisted by Melaka Hospital personnels.

Melaka State Government had donated money , clothes and other relief items for victims of Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar and Sichuan Earthquake in China to Malaysian Red Crescent , Melaka Branch on the 26.05.2008 at the official home of Melaka Chief Minister , Datuk Seri Mohd. Ali Rustam.

On the 21 – 23 April 2008, the camping gathering for the members of Youth Unit , Malaysian Red Crescent , Melaka Branch was held at the Botanical Garden , Ayer Keroh , Melaka which was attended by 280 youth members from Secondary Schools in Melaka state. Y.Bhg.Dato’ Dr.Hj.Bahari bin Datuk Hj.Abu Mansor , National Vice Chairman of Malaysian Red Crescent and Chairman of Malaysian Red Crescent Melaka Branch had officiated  the closing ceremony of the programme.

As many as 250 members of the Primary School Unit of Malaysian Red Crescent , Melaka Branch had gathered on the 8 – 10 April 2008 at the Botanical Garden , Ayer Keroh , Melaka. Y.Bhg. Encik Shahar bin Bakar, representing the Director of Education Department of Melaka State had officiated  the closing ceremony of this programme.
